WHAT WE DO
We shelter birds who can no longer stay where they've been, for whatever reasons..
We work with troubled or hurt birds to make them able to live a happier life.
We place birds in adoptive homes where they can stay for the rest of their lives.
We provide bird friends to birds who have no friends.
We educate the public about parrots as animals and as companions.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
We don't buy birds.
We don't broker birds for other people.
We don't ship birds to remote adopters.
We don't breed birds.
We do NOT adopt to smokers.
The Nebraska Parrot Rescue is a 501 c3
This is MAX.  He is one of our handsome cockatiels who a sanctuary bird.  He has been with the rescue for the last 6 years and loves to follow me around the house as I do chores or just clean the house.  He likes the top of the TV.  For those who say cockatiels don't have much to offer, I tell them they are completely wrong.  For those who say Cockatiels don't have personality you need to meet MAX.
We have great NEWS.
We are a NO KILL Rescue.
We have been looking at building the birds a "Bird House"  A place where they can have more room to move about..
With that being said we are looking for funding to make this happen.  Our plans are to build an addition on to our property to make this happen.  After review costs and making the building as "Green" as possible, it is looking like it will cost the rescue $140,000 in building costs.  It sounds like a lot of money but if you break it down in simple terms it looks like this.  If we can encourage 3500 people to donate $40each, we will have the money to build the birds a  ECO friendly shelter!
If you are interested in helping the Nebraska Parrot Rescue build this building Please go to PayPal and type in the phone number 402) 350-9923 and donate.  We thank you and so do the birds.
Last year alone we adopted 258 birds here at the Nebraska Parrot Rescue.  Currently as of April 17, 2012 we have adopted 55 birds.  Lets make this a great year for the birds!!
We are in NEED of a new shop vac to clean up the rescue floors.  The last one lasted 8 years and has now died.   We are looking for a `6 gal 6.5 HP.  If you are looking to make a donation, this is one of our current needs.
